MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Centre women's soccer's win streak, that started September 6, came to an end in a 1-0 loss versus Southern Athletic Association (SAA) member Berry College on Saturday.
A record of 8-2-1 and SAA mark of 1-1 belongs to the Colonels after the loss. The Vikings moved to 2-5-3 overall and 1-1 in league action with the win.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre had no issue firing off shots in the first half. The visiting team notched 14 total in the opening frame.
Olivia Bretz was responsible for five of those, with three coming on goal.
- Berry only got off five shots in the first half, but one found the back of the net in the 29th minute.
- The Colonels defense held tight and allowed no Viking shots in the second half of action, while tallying 12 attempts.
- It was a fight to the end for the Gold & White as they notched three shots on goal in the final 10 minutes, but still fell 1-0.
