SHELBYVILLE, Ind. - The Centre women's cross country team raced in the Great Lakes Regional Championships this morning, hosted by Franklin College. The Colonels finished 14th overall, highlighted by an outstanding race from
Sophie Bouldin.
The Colonels finished with a combined team score of 352 points, nine points back of Hope. Franciscan finished 76 points back of Centre in 15th place. DePauw won the event with 91 points, with Calvin, Trine, Wittenberg and John Carroll rounding out the top five in that order.
Individually, Bouldin ran a fantastic race, clocking in at 22:06.4 on the 6k course to finish seventh overall and earn All-Region honors. She was followed by classmate
Cara Taylor, who completed the course in 23:16.4 to give Centre a pair of runners in the individual top 50.
Two more Centre runners cracked the overall top 100 as
Erin Haugh finished 91st with a time of 24:06.8, followed closely by
Emma Musgrave in 24:08.
Claire Barnett (24:36.2),
Rachel Gaynor (24:45.9) and
Marissa Polio (26:03.9) rounded out Centre's counted times for the race.
