MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – A no. 4 versus no. 5 upset was pulled off by Centre men's soccer when they blanked Berry College 2-0 in the first round of the 2024 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
The Gold & White enter the semifinal round with an overall record of 11-3-3. The Vikings ended their season with a 6-5-6 record.

Drew Davidson tallied the first goal of the game on a heads-up play. A Centre throw in ended up in the hands of the Berry keeper who was unable to secure it. Davidson kicked the ball once it landed and put the Colonels up 1-0 in the 23rd minute.
- In the 50th minute, the Gold & White added an insurance goal.
Taylor Nelson ran from midfield to near the top of the box and sent a high-powered shot into the net for the final goal of the game.

Centre will face no. 1 seed and host Rhodes on Friday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. The Colonels beat the Lynx 2-1 in the regular-season meeting of the squads in late October.
