GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels got off to a hot start, running up 11-2 on the Golden Eagles with notable buckets from Bailey Rucker and Emma Perna. Spalding answered with a 9-0 run to tie the game just before the quarter's media time-out. Out of the break, Ryleigh Campbell and Rucker sandwiched a Spalding jumper with two from behind the arc. Spalding closed the frame with a buzzer beating three to make it a one-point game entering quarter two.
- The Colonels stretched their lead to as much as seven in the second period, Lindsay Jessie, Campbell, and Rucker carrying the offensive efforts. Spalding chipped away Centre's hold in the final two minutes, making it a one bucket game heading into halftime.
- Out of the locker room, the Gold & White created distance, Rucker opening the half with six unbroken points. Holding the Golden Eagles to just six total points in the period, Centre led 45-35 entering the final ten minutes.
- Ka'Niah Edelen carried the Colonels' offense in the opening minutes, draining a three to later add a pair of made free-throws. The Golden Eagles found themselves in foul trouble, subsequently placing Katelyn Stiltner and Perna at the charity stripe for five made free-throws. Spalding hit back with six points to cut the deficit to single digits, but Rucker would ultimately close the game with a long ball, returning the hold to double figures and adjusting the final to Centre 60, Spalding 48.
