DANVILLE, Va. – Centre women's basketball traveled to North Carolina for game two of their 2024-25 opening weekend. The Colonels improve to a 2-0 record after a 74-54 victory over the William Peace Pacers.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels dominated early, opening with a 15-point tear before the Pacers netted a basket. William Peace put up ten quick points in the final two minutes, but Centre continued to lead by 11, the score sitting at 21-10.
- Entering the second, the Gold & White stretched their hold to 22 with 11 unanswered points,
Lilly Reid opening the run with a pair of jumpers. Like the first, the Pacers found momentum late, netting ten before halftime. Outshooting William Peace 22-10 in the quarter, Centre held a 23-point advantage entering the break.
- Out of the locker room, the Pacers made their best run yet, opening the half with a 12-0 run.
Trinity Armour and Reid put up 11 for the Colonels, protecting the team's double-digit lead.
Katelyn Stiltner added a late lay-up to make it 56-39 heading into the final frame.
- The fourth period was the closest yet, Centre netting 18 while William Peace tallied 15. The Colonels found success from the floor, shooting 54 percent where
Arin Nipp and Stiltner were responsible for 12 of the 18 points.
Kylie Floyd capped the game with a fast break jumper after a steal from Armour, setting the final score at 74-54, the Gold & White favoring.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Reid led the game in points, steals, and assists. The sophomore put up 21, stole three, and assisted seven.
- Three other Colonels were in the double figures for points, Armour with 11 as Stiltner and Jessie matched with ten.

Arin Nipp was one point away from her first collegiate double-double. The sophomore took 11 off the glass and scored nine.
- The Colonels dominated, favoring in rebounds (32-21), assists (21-2), fast break points (12-7), steals (10-7), bench points (27-7), and second chance points (9-6).
