Colonels' fourth-quarter push betters Baldwin Wallace

DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's lacrosse remained at home to host Baldwin Wallace for their second game of the season. Trailing off with four unanswered goals in the final period, the Colonels downed the Yellow Jackets by a score of 12-10, improving to a 2-0 overall record.

HIGHLIGHTS
 - Centre found goals early and often in the opening quarter. The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring, but the Colonels answered with three unbroken goals in three minutes. Max Speers tallied Centre's first point with an unassisted goal and just a minute later, David Caldwell doubled the score. Rounding out the quarter's scoring, Speers notched his second goal with the helper from Noah Malubay.
- The Colonels carried their momentum into the initial possessions of the next frame. Ridr Knowlton stretched Centre's hold to four with the assist from Caldwell, but the Colonels fell silent for the remainder of the half. Notching four unanswered goals, the Yellow Jackets favored 5-4 entering halftime.
- Out of the break, both teams entered a seven-minute stale mate as much of the action remained in the midfield. Baldwin Wallace eventually broke the silence with a pair of back-to back goals, further stretching the deficit to three. Nick Witcher joined the scoring column with the Colonels first goal of the second half. Both squads collected one more goal by quarter's end, moving the score to Baldwin Wallace 8, Centre 6, entering the final period.
- In the fourth quarter, Centre made its best run of the day. Ryan Black and Speers collected successive goals to tie the game two minutes into the period. The Yellow Jackets answered with two of their own, regaining a two-point lead with ten minutes to go. Nearing the eight-minute mark, Speers solidified a hat-trick, simultaneously opening a key scoring streak for Centre. Ryan Hall followed with the helper from Black. Black assisted Knowlton for the next goal just before he claimed the final point of the game, a man-up goal assisted by Caldwell. At the close of regulation, the score read Centre 12, Baldwin Wallace 10.
