Colonels dominate Hanover in 24-2 win

DANVILLE, Ky.- Centre men's lacrosse returned to Andy Frye Stadium to host non-conference opponent Hanover. Registering 24 goals to the Panther's two, the Colonels solidified their sixth win of the season.  

HIGHLIGHTS
 - The Colonels opened the game at a furious pace with 11 unanswered goals in the first frame. Ridr Knowlton initiated the game with a goal 40 seconds in. By the end of the opening 15-minutes, Max Speers, LSM Gavin Fields, Nick Witcher, Ryan Black, Graysen Jolly, Ben Zickel, and David Caldwell joined the scoring column.
- Centre's momentum carried into the second quarter as the Colonels outscored Hanover 5-2. The Panthers opened the period with a pair of successive scores, but the Gold & White responded with five unbroken goals, all but one coming from rookie Andrew Dittmore. With Jack Cunningham's goal, the Colonels led 16-2 entering the halftime break.
- Centre continued to dominate in the second half as the Panthers were rendered scoreless. By the end of regulation, Connor Aschman, Owen Belt, Nate Malubay, Bryant Brown, and Henry Cato registered goals, finalizing the score at Centre 24, Hanover two. 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Dittmore led the game in both goals and points (9). The rookie registered seven goals and two assists, a career high in both statistics. 
- At the face-off, Dylan Croft and Grayson Shumate dominated with 24 of 30 successes.
- Jack Forrester fronted the Colonels in caused turnovers with two.  
- In the crease, all six goalies found minutes. Together the unit stuffed seven shots and completed 21 of their 22 clears attempted.
- Centre favored in groundballs, shots, clears, and face-offs. 

UP NEXT
Centre men's lacrosse will hit the road for a five game road series. They'll travel south to face their first SAA opponent, Berry, on March 16th at 12 p.m. ET.
