Centre men batter Oglethorpe on the road

ATLANTA- On Saturday afternoon, the Centre men's lacrosse team faced off against Southern Athletic Association's (SAA) Oglethorpe. After their formidable start, the Colonels thumped the Stormy Petrels 19-5, improving to 2-1 record in the league. 

HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre controlled the game from the start, outscoring Oglethorpe 11-1 in the opening 15-minutes. By the close of the frame, the Colonels tallied five different athletes in the scoring column including David Caldwell, Noah Malubay, Graysen Jolly, Andrew Dittmore, and Ridr Knowlton.
- The second quarter mimicked the first as Centre held the Petrels to just one goal. Jolly opened the scoring while Owen Belt closed it. Entering halftime, the Gold & White possessed a comfortable, 13-point lead. 
- Out of the break, the Petrels initiated the second half with a goal a minute in but after the quick score, Oglethorpe fell silent for nearly 19 minutes. In the meantime, Centre further stretched their hold with four consecutive goals from Jack Cunningham, Dittmore, and Ben Zickel. The Stormy Petrels netted the last two goals, ending their drought and moving the final score to Centre 19, Oglethorpe five.  
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Malubay led the field in goals with four while Knowlton, Caldwell, and Belt each secured hat-tricks. 
- In goal, all six goalies found minutes. Together, Ramsay Cole, Sammy Zickel, Hayden Burns, Kyle Granquist, Graham Driscoll, and Avi Leffler tallied seven saves. 
- Grayson Shumate fronted Centre at the face-off, going 9-12.
- Holden Techet led the Gold & White in groundballs with nine. 
- The Colonels bettered their opponents in shots, clears (21-22), groundballs, face-offs, and extra-man opportunities.

Centre men will return home for the remainder of the regular season. They'll host SAA's Rhodes on April 5th at 7 p.m. ET.
