Colonels clamp down on Lynx in 11-7 SAA Win

DANVILLE, Ky.- On Friday evening, the men's lacrosse team returned to Andy Frye stadium to host Southern Athletic Association's (SAA) Rhodes. After a close first half, the Colonels' third quarter run made the difference. By the close of regulation, Centre men's lacrosse downed the Lynx 11-7, improving to a 3-1 mark in the league.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The game opened at a competitive pace. Centre's Ridr Knowlton initiated the game early with the assist from Graysen Jolly. Rhodes fired back with a pair before Centre's David Caldwell evened the score. Closing the period, LSM Patrick Tatro forced a turnover and turned a coast-to-coast goal, improving the score to 3-2, Centre favoring.
- The Colonels initiated the second period with a pair of successive scores. Caldwell owned the first while Nate Malubay followed with a man-up goal minutes later. The Lynx notched their first goal just before Ridr Knowlton tallied the Colonels' third point of the frame. Rhodes closed the half with two late goals, moving the score to 6-5 entering the break.
- Out of halftime, Centre dominated, blanking the Lynx 3-0. Caldwell opened the run while Holden Techet and Ridr Knowlton closed it with a pair of goals just seconds apart. Entering the final quarter, the Colonels held a four-point edge.
- Malubay initiated the fourth period a minute in but for every Centre goal, the Lynx had an answer. Ryan Hall recorded the Colonels' final goal and yet again, Rhodes answered. With both teams registering two goals each, the final score was set at Centre 11, Rhodes seven.
