Women's lacrosse batters Transylvania in third straight win

DANVILLE, Ky.- Centre women's lacrosse returned to South Turf to host instate rivals Transylvania. With eight different Colonels registering goals, Centre bettered the Pioneers by a score of 23-15, improving to a 4-2 overall record.

HIGHLIGHTS
 - The contest remained close in the initial eight minutes, both teams matching one another with three goals apiece. Centre's Isa Stumpf initiated the scoring with following goals coming from Emma Botts and Riley Jackson. Nearing the midway mark, Botts, Ella Treinen, and Haley Rice tallied three unbroken goals to put the Colonels ahead for the remainder of the game.  
- The Gold & White further extended their hold in the second period, outscoring the Pioneers 9-6 in the frame. Stumpf solidified a hat-trick with consecutive woman-down goals three minutes in. Before the halftime break, Treinen and Rice joined Stumpf with having hat-tricks, directly assisting to Centre's six-point lead entering the next half. 
- The Colonels continued to separate themselves in the second half, taking as much as a nine-point lead. Addie Lewis joined the scoring column with the first goal of the half while rookie Sophia Richardson closed the game's scoring with a diving goal for her first collegiate point. At regulation's end, the score read 23-15, the Gold & White favoring.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Rice and Treinen tied for the game's leader in goals with five each. Treinen matched her career high in goals which was coincidentally set in last year's contest versus the Pioneers. 
- Lily Gahm and Ellie Macdonald tied for most assists with two each.
- Treinen led the field in caused turnovers with five.
- Centre dominated in the transition with an 100% clear rate after completing 16 of their 16 attempted. Transy went 10-19 on clears.
- In goal, Mary Haley and Gracey Falk split time. Together the two stuffed nine of the Pioneers' shots. 
- The Gold & White tallied eight different scorers.

Centre women's lacrosse will continue their home stretch to host the Muskingum Muskies on Saturday, Mar. 9th, at 11 a.m. ET.
