DANVILLE, Ky.- The Centre men's lacrosse team returned home after a two-game road stent to host Albion University. After a fourth-quarter scoring surge, the Colonels bettered the Britons 16-9, improving to a 4-1 overall mark.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels took a brief lead in the initial minute, finding a goal in
Ryan Black before the Britons evened the score. Centre regained the lead with a trio of unbroken goals from
Noah Malubay and
David Caldwell. The Britons hit back with a pair of successive goals to end the period, moving the score to 4-3 in the Colonels' favor.
- The momentum began to sway in the Britons' favor after the Colonels were plagued with turnovers in the opening minutes of the frame.
Ben Hubbs eventually broke Albion's three-goal run during a man-up opportunity.
Ridr Knowlton and Black followed Hubbs with two additional points, returning the lead to Centre. The Britons tied it back up at 7-7 with a buzzer-beater to close the half.
- Opening the third period, the game remained close as neither team took more than a one-point lead. Centre's
Max Speers opened the half with additional points coming from Hubbs and Caldwell later in the frame. Heading into the final quarter, Centre held a one-possession lead.
- The Colonels dominated the final 15-minutes.
Graysen Jolly registered the first of six unbroken goals from him, Speers, Black, Knowlton, and Hubbs. Outscoring their opponents 6-0 in the fourth, the Gold & White tallied their fourth win of the 2024 campaign.

- Caldwell, Black, and Hubbs shared a three-way tie for Centre's leading scorer, each having a hat-trick.
- Croft led the game in groundballs with 17, a career high for the senior.
- Centre completed 14-18 clears while Albion finished 15 of their 20 attempted.
- The Colonels nearly doubled Albion in groundballs, taking 42 compared to the Britons' 22.
