BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Centre field hockey traveled to Virginia for their opening contest of the 2024 season. After a close opening half, Bridgewater pulled away with three goals in the second half, downing the Colonels 4-0.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The contest remained close for much of the opening frame, the Eagles placing the first goal during a corner opportunity in the final two minutes. With the second period proving to be a stalemate between the two squads, Bridgewater held a one-point lead entering halftime.
- Out of the break, the Eagles continued to utilize their corner opportunities, notching a late goal in the third period in that fashion. Tallying two additional points in the fourth quarter, the final score was set at Bridgewater four, Centre zero.

- The Eagles led in shots taken, having eight to the Colonels' three.
