DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's soccer moved to six games unbeaten with a 2-1 win over no. 23 Denison University on Friday night of 2024 Family Weekend.
The Colonels remained unblemished as the Gold & White record jumped to 5-0-1. The Big Red fell to 3-1-1 with the loss.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Speed, both on the clock and by foot, was the story of the first goal scored.
Luke Morgan took possession of the ball around midfield and took off running with three Denison players chasing. He took a shot from the top of the goal area and it found the back of the net.
- With less than five minutes remaining in the first half, the visiting Big Red tied things up 1-1.

Amit Shahar notched his first score of the year in the form of a game-winning goal in the 88th minute.
Jafet Figueroa took control of a Centre goal kick and sent a quick touch pass to Shahar who sent a rocket of a goal into the bottom left corner of the net to secure. The shot secured the 2-1 win.

- It was the first goal of the season for both of the Colonels' goal scorers.

- Centre's six shots on goal tied for the second-most in a match this season. They outshot Denison 6-3 in shots on target.
- Those three shots on goal for the Big Red represent the second lowest amount for the Ohio-based squad this season.
- The Colonels are just three wins away from matching last season's win total with 10 matches remaining in the regular season.

Brendan Egan stopped two of the three shots he saw over 90 minutes. He has played 532 minutes in goal for the Gold & White so far this season.
