Colonels blank Allegheny Gators

DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre field hockey returned to South Turf, hosting Allegheny as part of 2024 Family Weekend festivities. Taking an early lead, the Colonels blanked the Gators 7-0, winning by the largest margin since the 2021 season.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels got off to a hasty start, netting the first goal a minute in when Emily Ritchie set Maggie Will up for her first goal of the year. Ritchie later joined the scoring column herself with the help of Olivia Ruth. Owning the first half's only two goals, the Gold & White led 2-0 entering the break.
- Out of halftime, Centre continued to dominate, placing four goals in the third while the Gators could not muster one. Ritchie started the tear, followed by goals from Will, Ruth, and Hannah Miller. Entering the final period, the Colonels held a comfortable six-point edge.
- Abby Brainard owned the fourth quarter's only point. The senior netted her first goal of the season with the help of Ruth, finalizing the score at Centre seven, Allegheny zero.
