Men’s soccer falls in first road trip

SALEM, Va. – Centre men's soccer fell for the first time in the 2024 campaign with a 3-1 setback to a Roanoke College team that received votes in the most recent United Soccer Coaches poll.

The Friday result moved the Colonels to 6-1-1 while the Maroons improved to 3-0-2.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The first goal of the match, and only of the first half, was by Centre. A free kick from Finnegan Deem-Ranzetta was sent into the goal by Henry Seigman who used his head from right outside of the goal area.
- Roanoke tallied four goals in the final half to tally the 4-0 win at home.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Henry Seigman's goal was the first of his Colonel career. The Georgetown, Texas native notched the goal on his first collegiate shot on goal.
- Finnegan Deem-Ranzetta's assist was the first for the junior defender in a Centre uniform.
- Brendan Egan yet again had five saves in 90 minutes. That mark tied the second-most stops in a match this season.

UP NEXT
The Colonels travel to Tennessee to face Maryville College to close the road trip. The match against the future Southern Athletic Association foe kicks off at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
