Colonels sweep weekend in Wisconsin

MEQUON, Wis.– The Colonels continued their Wisconsin stint, traveling to Concordia for their first meeting of the season. Registering the game's only goal, Centre field hockey clinched their third shutout of the season, downing the Falcons 1-0.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS  
- The Colonels came out swinging, taking seven shots in the opening frame while the Falcons' took one. With three saves from Concordia, the score remained even at 0-0 entering period two. 
- In similar fashion to yesterday's game versus Marian, Maggie Will tallied the opening goal during a penalty corner, this assist coming from Claire Martin. Notching a point midway through the second, the Gold & White led 1-0 entering halftime. 
- Out of the break, the Colonels continued to favor in offensive possessions through the second half. Although leading in both shots and corner opportunities, when time ran out, the score was set at Centre one, Concordia zero. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE  
- Will claimed the only goal while Martin owned the singular assist. 
- Emily Ritchie and Martin tied for the game's leader in shots taken with five each. Peyton Gahm and Will followed with four apiece. 
- The Colonels dominated offensively, taking 26 shots while the Falcons mustered one.
- Centre favored in corners with five; Concordia had zero.
- In goal, Carlie McKenry tallied her third shutout of the season.

Centre field hockey will return to Danville to host Rhodes on Saturday, Sept. 28th at 12 p.m. ET.
