Hamilton’s stroke secures win over Rhodes

DANVILLE, Ky.- Centre returned home to host the Rhodes Lynx in a non-conference competition. Scoring the game's only goal in the opening frame, the Colonels downed the Lynx by a score of 1-0, improving to a 4-4 overall record. 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS  
- The Colonels opened the scoring early, placing the first goal less than five minutes in. Rookie Ashley Hamilton found herself on the dot after a Rhodes' penalty during a corner play. Setting it in with ease, Hamilton gave the Colonels a one-point edge early. For the remainder of the half, both teams nearly matched one another in shots taken, Centre having six, Rhodes taking five. With neither team notching an additional point, the score remained at 1-0, the Colonels favoring.
- Out of halftime, the Gold & White dominated offensively, taking five shots to the opposing one, also favoring in corners 2-1. By the end of regulating, neither squad placed another shot, finalizing the score at Centre one, Rhodes zero.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE  
- Hamilton's goal was the first of her career. She was the game's only scorer.
- Emily Ritchie led the game in shots with four. 
- In goal, Carlie McKenry tallied two saves. 
- Centre favored in shots (11-6) and corners (6-5).
