MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Centre volleyball played the first of four consecutive Southern Athletic Association road games on Saturday as they traveled to Rhodes. The Colonels made quick work of the Lynx, cruising to a victory in straight sets.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

- The Colonels got off to a hot start in the opening set, scoring nine of the first 11 points. Rhodes fought back and cut the lead to two on two separate occasions, but Centre had an answer each time, capping off the 25-18 win with a kill from Abby Swartz and an ace by Madi Winfield.
- Centre broke open the second set with a 12-1 run in the early stages and never trailed the rest of the way. The Colonels scored the final six points to win it by a score of 25-13, with the last two points coming off aces by Emily Gardner.
- The third set played out in a similar set as the first as Centre went on a large run early to take the lead for good. Syd Bietz put home the final kill on a 25-19 victory that secured the sweep for Centre.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

- Centre hit .250 as a team for the match, with Bietz leading a balanced scoring effort with a game high ten kills.
- Gardner led all players with 29 assists, as she topped the Lynx's team assist total by seven.
- The Colonels held a 54-43 edge in digs as June Padilla finished with a game high 19.
- Centre had a season high 13 aces in the win, led by Gardner and Winfield with four each.
