DANVILLE, Ky. – The Colonels took to South Turf to host Washington & Lee in their 2024 home opener. Although Centre notched the game's first goal, a trio from the Generals bettered the Gold & White, setting the final score at 3-1.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels opened the game's scoring during a penalty corner ten minutes into quarter two.
Halle Rigden spotted
Reese Smith who set in her first goal of the season. About a minute later, the Generals evened the score with an unassisted score, making it tied at 1-1 entering halftime.
- Out of the break, Washington & Lee doubled their score with a goal five minutes in. With just one minute remaining in the third frame, the Generals tallied an additional goal to move the score to 3-1 in their favor.
- The final 15 minutes offered no goals for either team, halting the final score at Washington & Lee three, Centre one.
