DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre men's basketball team picked up its second victory of the season over the Hendrix Warriors this season, with this one counting in conference play as the Colonels cruised to a 78-59 win.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre shot lights out to begin the game, jumping out to a quick 15-5 lead following three-pointers by
Carson Wooldridge and
Jaxson Banks.
- After a couple of Hendrix baskets narrowed the gap, Centre went on another run, outscoring Hendrix 12-2 as Banks got inside for a driving score to make it 27-11.
- The lead only grew from there as eight straight points from Banks and Wooldridge put the Colonels up by 22. The Colonels took their largest lead of the night at 48-21 on a runner by
Drake Ingram and went ahead 48-23 at the break.
- After a couple of Hendrix threes early in the second half, the Colonels stemmed the tide as the lead fluctuated between 17 and 20 points for most of the half. Two free throws by
Jackson Wise capped off the scoring.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Banks led a balanced Centre scoring effort with a game high 19 points, followed by 13 from
Nolan Wahl and 11 from Wooldridge.
- Centre held a 46-43 advantage on the glass, led by a career high ten boards by Ingram.
- The Centre defense held Hendrix to just 33 percent shooting for the game.
