DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre women's track & field team competed in their first team meet of 2025 as they hosted the Centre Indoor Showcase inside Champions Hall. Competing against a huge field from all divisions, the Colonels finished third out of 16 teams.
The Colonels finished with a total of 68.33 points to finish third, less than 13 points behind second place Campbellsville. Berry won the meet with 108 points, with Berea and Brescia rounding out the top five teams in the field.
Senior
Madjo Doumbia entered her name into the Centre women's track record book once again as the speedster clocked in with a first place time of 40.22 in the 300m, adjusted to 39.63 for a new school record. Doumbia later picked up another win in the 200m as she posted a time of 25.14, with
Faith Peterson taking seventh place for two more points for Centre in that race.
In the 60m hurdles, first-year
Alexandria Masden placed seventh overall with a time of 9.46.
Ainsley Wilson led the way for the Colonels in the 400m, finishing second in 1:01.55, with Alexandria and
Alanna Masden each cracking the scoring column as well.
The women's long jump saw recent pentathlon record setter
Serena McNeilly take second place with a mark of 17-9.75. Sophomore
Arden Campbell came in eighth place with a mark of 15-0.25. In the high jump,
Riley Brown cleared 4-5.25 to finish in eighth place. First-year
Lyla Bordwine posted a clear of 9-4.25 to take fourth place in the pole vault.
Moving onto throws, first-year
Zoey Shahid-Scott finished third overall – first among D3 throwers – with a mark of 37-11. Shahid-Scott also finished fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 43-2.

The next meet for Centre women's track & field will be the Steemer Showcase, which will take place on Feb. 1 at Wittenberg.
