ATLANTA - Earlier today the Southern Athletic Association released its postseason awards for the 2025 volleyball season and had two players land on the All-Conference lists as juniors
Syd Bietz and
Mack Turner were named by the league's coaches to this year's All-SAA teams.
Bietz was named to the All-SAA First Team, the third all-conference nod in three seasons in Danville. For the third consecutive season, Bietz led the Colonels in kills, finishing with 362 on the season and averaging just under four kills per set. She also led the team with 38 aces on the year and was second on the team with 299 digs. Bietz earned a pair of SAA Offensive Player of the Week honors, recorded 20 or more kills in four games this season and surpassed a career milestone when she joined the Centre 1,000 kills club.
Turner was a Second Team All-SAA honoree for the second consecutive season. The junior middle blocker paced the Colonels with 68 blocks on the year, tying a single game career high with eight blocks against Millsaps on Sept. 27. Turner also led the team with a .345 hitting percentage as she hit .400 or better in 15 games this season. Her 175 kills this season ranked second on the team.
In addition to the two All-SAA winners, junior
Abby Swartz was Centre's representative on the SAA All-Sportsmanship team. Swartz played in all but one match for the Colonels and finished with 139 kills and 61 blocks.
Centre will open postseason play on Thursday with a matchup against Sewanee.
