ATLANTA - Centre volleyball's 2025 postseason run came to an end in the semifinal round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament as they fell to the top seeded Trinity Tigers, ranked no 8.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The opening set went back and forth for the first 20 points before Trinity utilized an 11-3 run to go up 21-13, eventually winning the set by a score of 25-15.
- The Colonels had to battle from behind for the entirety of the second set after falling behind 7-3 early. Centre kept the game close, staying within five points and cutting the margin to one, but eventually the Tigers prevailed 25-22.
- Centre put everything together in the third set, scoring nine straight points to take a 15-7 lead.
Kendra Christopher had three aces during the rally and four for the set. From there, Centre never looked back as
Syd Bietz delivered the last three kills in a 25-18 Centre victory to keep the Colonels alive.
- The fourth set was another closely contested one as the Colonels held a slight edge for the most part. With the scored tied at 21-21, Trinity scored the final four points to win the match 25-21.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Bietz finished with a game high 21 kills, giving her five games of 20 or more kills this season.
- Centre held a 46-41 advantage in assists, led by
Olivia Chojnacki, who led all players with 28.
- Team digs were even at 66-66. Centre had three players finish in double digits, with
Emersyn Pannell finishing with a game high 21.
