DANVILLE, Ky. - D3football.com released its All-Region teams on Wednesday afternoon and Centre football had representation on the All-Region 3 Second Team in wide receiver
Blake Busson and return specialist
Cree Ross.
Busson enjoyed a career year as a senior for the Colonels, earning All-SAA First Team honors. Accounting for 44 percent of Centre's total receiving yardage on the year, Busson led the SAA with 1,074 receiving yards, becoming Centre's first 1,000-yard receiver since Jaylon Hibbs in 2018 and setting a school record for receiving yards in a ten-game season. Busson had six games of at least 100 yards and surpassed the program's career receiving yards record in Centre's win over Sewanee on Nov. 8.
Ross was voted the SAA Special Teams Player of the Year by the league's coaches after a breakthrough junior campaign. The track & field All-American in the indoor triple jump led all of Division III with three kickoff return touchdowns, running back kicks for scores against Millsaps, Trinity and Sewanee. Ross was named SAA Special Teams Player of the Week twice during the season after his first two return touchdowns.
