DANVILLE, Ky. - The Centre men's basketball team played its final regular season home game of 2025 as the Colonels hosted the first place Berry Vikings on Senior Day in Alumni Gym. The visitors' hot shooting in the first half was the difference maker as Berry got the win by a score of 84-67.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre got on the board first as
Landen Hamilton canned a quick three, picking up where he left off after his 20-point game against Oglethorpe on Friday. From there, the Vikings made their first three attempts from long distance.
- Berry continued the momentum for the entire first half as no Centre players besides Hamilton and
Nolan Wahl scored in the first 12 minutes of action. The Vikings shot 57 percent from the floor and converted every offensive rebound into points, including a final putback at the buzzer to make it 48-21 at the break.
- After trading baskets for the opening minutes of the second half, the Centre offense found a rhythm as they began to hit some shots, outscoring Berry 13-2 with
Jaxson Banks and
Kalib Thomas doing most of the damage.
- Banks kept the hot hand for Centre in the second half, helping chip away at what had been a 29-point lead. A pair of Wahl free throws and a layup by
Ryan Shene narrowed the gap to 75-62 with five minutes to go, but that was as close as it got.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Banks led all players with 20 points, his second 20-point game in a row. Wahl added 18 points, while Hamilton finished with 13 before fouling out late in the second half.
- Centre held Berry to 38 percent shooting in the second half.
