Colonels finish 2025 NCAA Diving Regionals strong

GRINNELL, Iowa - The 2025 NCAA Region II Diving regionals at Grinnell College concluded Saturday and the Colonels of Centre diving closed out another successful day.   

The Colonel men's took to the boards for the one-meter dive (11 dives). Erin Dannemiller, Centre participant on the women's side, dove the three-meter dive (11 dives).  

Seven of the 20 men in the regional will move on to the NCAA Championship while six of the 23 women will move on. The full field will be determined following the conclusion of Saturday's dives.  

For the second-straight day a Colonel finished second on the men's side. Justin Toth scored 475.35 to place second in his first regional appearance as a Colonel. Avery Balch, a fellow Birmingham-Southern transfer, placed fourth with a score of 472.75. 

Right behind was Garrett George who scored 465.30 to land in fifth. Rounding out Centre contingent was Rowan Fitzsimmons in seventh (451.15) and Brandon Anderson in tenth (424.70). 

Dannemiller turned in a 21st place showing with a tally of 263.70 to conclude her first ever trip to an NCAA regional   


FRIDAY RECAP
A six member Centre swimming & diving contingent was in action today at the NCAA Region II Diving regionals at Grinnell College.  

The men's group participated in the three-meter dive (11 dives) while Erin Dannemiller, the lone women's diver for the Colonels, took part in the one-meter dive (11 dives). 
 
Rowan Fitzsimmons led the Centre men with a second-place finish. He scored a 523.40 in his best-ever NCAA regional finish. Garrett George was next for the Colonels and tallied a 492.70 to finish fourth. The next three spots also went to Centre divers. Brandon Anderson placed fifth with a tally of 485.80. Justin Toth and Avery Balch were next with Toth coming in sixth with a score of 485.15 while Balch ended the day in seventh with a score of 479.25. 
 
Dannemiller finished the day 23 with a score of 283.30 in her first ever NCAA regional appearance. 
 
UP NEXT
The Gold & White await selections for the NCAA Championship. That event runs March 19-22, 2025 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
