BEREA, Ky. - The Centre women's cross country team began the 2025 season with the BC/CC Jamboree at Berea College. The Colonels finished second overall out of six teams, but first among Division III teams in the field.
The Colonels posted a combined team score of 51 points to finish 19 points behind Cumberlands, but 53 points higher than the next two teams on the leaderboard, Berea and Transylvania.
Individually, all seven of Centre's qualified runners finished in the overall top 20. The top finisher was
Gracie West, clocking in at 18:58.1 on the 5k track to take fourth place. She was closely followed by
Cara Taylor, who completed the course in 19:31 to finish sixth overall.
Sophie Bouldin gave Centre three runners in the overall top ten as she finished tenth with a time of 20:08.4.
Rookie
Savannah Setzer was the fourth Colonel to cross the finish line, posting a time of 20:13.4 to take 14th place. Another first-year,
Mary Darling, rounded out Centre's scoring times as she finished 17th with a time of 20:25.
Emma Musgrave and
Claire Barnett finished right behind Darling among qualifiers to give Centre seven top-20 finishers.

The Colonels will return to action on Sept. 6 as they compete in the Grizzly Invitational in Shelbyville, Ind.
