A familar name to Centre Lacrosse fans has been tapped to be the next Women's Lacrosse Head Coach.
Carter Hall takes the reins after serving 3 years as an assistant to the men's program at Centre.
While an assistant, Hall coordinated defensive strategies, including breakdowns of practice and game films to use in scouting reports. He also oversaw social media creation, travel arrangements and carried inventory responsibilities. During his time on staff, Hall coached 2 scholar All-Americans, 2 USILA All-Americans and 17 SAA All-Conference honorees. It led to the team winning back-to-back SAA titles in 2023 & 2024, and a 2023 NCAA Tournament win.
Hall spoke of the opportunity to come back to Danville. "I would like to thank Director of Athletics,
Brad Fields '98, and the rest of the community at Centre for giving me the opportunity to lead the Women's Lacrosse program," he said. "I am beyond excited to help guide our athletes both on the field and in the classroom, as well as continuing to build on the success that the program has had in recent years."
Brad Fields '98, Director of Athletics and Recreation, also shared his excitement in bringing Hall back. "I am thrilled to announce that
Carter Hall will be our next head women's lacrosse coach at Centre College. Getting to know Carter during his previous stint as an assistant coach, he is a person with high integrity who knows the hard work and dedication this position requires. I genuinely believe he has the tools to build a championship caliber program," Fields noted. "Carter has a passion for mentoring young people and his current, and future, Colonels will benefit from that leadership."Â
Hall takes over a team that won 26 games over the last three seasons, including a 12-win 2024 season that saw the Colonels reach the SAA Championship. Hall is looking forward to continuing the program on an upward trajectory. "Centre is a place that I am happy to call home, and I look forward to building strong and positive relationships with our players, families, and alumni in the years to come."
Fields also complimented the student-athletes during the transition. "I want to take a moment, as well, to commend our team. This was a lengthy search process and the way our student-athletes handled the uncertainty in stride reminds me of the good work that is happening, every day, to practice and build resiliency."
Hall has been active at various levels of the game since graduating from Westminster College in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting and Communications. He coached the Westside Lacrosse Premier Boys Club in Michigan from 2016-19 and 2025. He also spent two years as an assistant coach at Carroll University from 2020-21 and was the Mukwonago Lacrosse Club Girls Varsity Head Coach from 2021-22. As a player, Hall was a 4-year starting goalkeeper, 4-year All-PAC honoree, 3-year captain and the 2019 PAC Defensive Player of the Year.
The Colonels schedule and roster will be finalized and announced in the coming weeks with the 2026 season starting in mid-February.
