LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Centre football team hit the road for the first time in 2025 as they faced the LaGrange Panthers for the first time in prgoram history. The Centre offense never got going in a 20-6 loss.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre got it going early as
Ollie Carter picked off a LaGrange pass on the opening series of the game and returned it deep into Panthers territory to set up a short field.
- The Colonels took advantage of the field position as
Jack Kennedy kicked a short field goal to give the Colonels the early 3-0 lead.
- LaGrange answered back with a field goal of their own after a long drive. In the second quarter, the Panthers turned a Centre interception into another field goal to go ahead for the first time at 6-3.
- On the ensuing kickoff, the Colonels ran back the kick for a touchdown, but it was nullified by a penalty. From there, both offenses stalled before LaGrange went on a 13-play drive and punched it in on the goal line to go up 13-3. With less than 100 seconds left in the half,
Jack Gohmann completed eight straight passes to put Centre in field goal range and Kennedy converted to make it 13-6 at the half.
- In what turned out to be the final score of the game, LaGrange turned a swing pass into an 88-yard score on their first series of the third period. Centre once again ran back the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown, but for the second time in the game, a penalty negated it.

Centre will head into their bye week next week and will return to action on Oct. 4 to face Millsaps at home to open conference play.
