SHELBYVILLE, Ind. - The Centre women's cross country team had a quick turnaround as they returned to action a week after their season opener with the Grizzly Invitational, hosted by Franklin. The Colonels finished in a close second place out of eight teams.
The Colonels finished with a combined team score of 45 points to finish second to DePauw by just four points in a two-horse race for the top team finish at the meet. Manchester finished a distant third with 94 points.
Individually, the Centre women had two of the top three finishers in the field. Reigning SAA Women's Runner of the Week
Gracie West placed second overall with a 5k time of 18:59.7. She was immediately followed by
Sophie Bouldin in third place, clocking in at 19:04.
Cara Taylor finished eighth overall with a time of 19:45.2 to give Centre three runners in the overall top ten.
Claire Barnett finished in 14th place with a time of 20:11.3, with
Savannah Setzer clocking in at 20:19.5 for 18th place to cap off the scoring times for the Colonels

The Colonels will be idle next week and will return to action on Oct. 20 with the NCAA Pre-National meet in Spartanburg, S.C.
