After a dominant opening 3 games to the 2025 season, Centre Field Hockey was turned back on Sunday by way of a 6-1 defeat at Ohio Wesleyan.
The Colonels struggled on both ends of the field as OWU controlled most of the game. Centre's offense mustered just 7 shots total and only 2 on goal. Meanwhile, Ohio Wesleyan took 39 total shots with 20 going directly at
MJ Surtin in goal. Surtin's gave it her all to limit the damage, ending the game with 14 saves.
Ohio Wesleyan scored a single goal in each of the first 2 periods and 2 each in the final 2 en route to the 5-goal win.
Emily Ritchie scored her 4th goal of the weekend for Centre's lone tally that came with just over 2 minutes left in the game.
The Colonels wrap-up their 5-game season-opening road trip at DePauw on Saturday, September 13th. Game time is set for 2:30pm.
