DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre men's basketball battled the Rhodes Lynx in a Sunday afternoon tilt inside Alumni Gym, where a late rally by the visitors allowed Rhodes to pull away to a 70-58 victory over the Colonels.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Lynx cracked the scoreboard first with a three-pointer, but the next four minutes belonged to the Colonels, who caught fire with 16 consecutive points.
Kalib Thomas scored the first seven points in the stretch and
Hunter Coleman capped off the run with a three to make it a 16-3 lead for the Colonels.
- From there, Rhodes weathered the storm and chipped away at the lead, eventually cutting the deficit to four.

Ryan Shene answered back for Centre with a pair of threes and a midrange jumper from Thomas made it a 30-22 lead for the Colonels.
- The two teams battled back and forth for the opening minutes of the second half with Rhodes continuing to gnaw at the Centre lead. The Lynx finally reclaimed the lead at 40-39 with ten minutes to go.
- Centre responded again to regain the lead as
Landen Hamilton made a free throw and
Nolan Wahl sprung free for a layup on the break. The lead changed hands a few more times and Thomas buried a three to tie the score at 47-47.
- With eight minutes left, the Lynx made their push. Rhodes outscored Centre 20-0 over the next six minutes to effectively put the game away. Centre scored the next eight points over the next 60 seconds, but the damage had been done.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Shene led the Colonels with 17 points, with Thomas and
Drake Ingram each finishing in double figures.
- After holding the Lynx to 28 percent shooting in the first half, Rhodes shot 64 percent in the second half.

The Colonels will hit the road for a four-game trip over the next two weeks. The first game will be at Berry on Jan. 16.
