The opening quarter was packed full of defense, turnovers, and short scoring bursts from both sides. Centre started early with a controlling tempo by attacking the rim and capitalizing on Berry's turnovers.
Lilly Reid had an impact on both ends, scoring inside while collecting multiple steals to disrupt Berry's offense.

Berry struggled with finding consistency against Centre's defense, committing several turnovers. Briaiah Lewis provided most of Berry's offense with a pair of strong finishes in the lane, helping keep the game close midway through the quarter.

Tessa Miles took control on offense, scoring repeatedly on drives, pull-up jumpers, and at the free-throw lines to stretch the lead early on.

However, with the struggle on offense, Berry also struggled to stop Centre tempo as the score going into the half was Centre ahead 29 to 15.
The second half proved to be a turnaround for Berry, as they came out of halftime with renewed energy, putting defensive pressure and capitalizing on transition opportunities to chip away at the Colonels' lead.
Centre responded quickly with baskets from
Lilly Reid, including a floater and a late three-pointer, while
Lindsay Jessie added points at the free-throw line. Despite the scoring rhythm, the quarter featured frequent turnovers on both sides, which created a disruption to the offensive rhythm, keeping either team from going on long scoring runs.
Berry found additional success at the basket through Elly Callihan, briefly cutting the deficit and shifting momentum. Centre responded with defensive rebounds led by
