Danville, KY - Centre Women's Basketball earned the #2 seed and a bye into the semifinals of the 2026 SAA Women's Basketball Championship as the Colonels will look to defend their tournament title from a season ago.

The Colonels finished the regular season in a four-way tie with Millsaps, Oglethorpe, Berry and Southwestern at a 9-5 conference record. Tiebreakers were the difference in giving the Colonels the 2-seed. With the bye, Centre will play in a semifinal on Friday against the winner of 3-seed Millsaps and 6-seed Southwestern.

In the regular season, Centre split its meetings with Millsaps. On January 9th, Centre rallied from a 16-point deficit in the final 5:44 for a stunning 72-70 win. Lilly Reid led the Colonels with 21 points, including the game-winning free throws with 1:21 to play. Millsaps won the second meeting, 80-57, on February 13th. Tessa Miles led the Colonels that night with 12 points and 6 rebounds off the bench.

Centre played Southwestern twice in the span of one week in late January and won both games. In the first matchup, Ryleigh Campbell led the Colonels with a conference season-high 19 points as Centre won 71-62. Inside Alumni Gym one week later, Centre trailed by 11 with six minutes to play in the game, before going on a 15-4 run to send the game to overtime tied at 72. In OT, the Colonels hit their first five shots and never looked back in an 83-75 win. Isabelle Combs exploded for a season-high 20 points in just 15 minutes off the bench to lead five Colonels in double-figure scoring.

Millsaps plays Southwestern in a Thursday quarterfinal at 2:00pm.

Friday's semifinal is also scheduled for a 2:00pm tip. The tournament is being hosted by Berry College. To watch the game, click here. For complete information regarding the 2026 SAA Women's Basketball Championship, click here.
