Oglethorpe gained control early in the first quarter, featuring strong perimeter shooting, active defense, and balanced scoring to build momentum over Centre. Briley Elder contributed to the early spark, knocking down a three-pointer and later adding assists and a steal, while Sheraton Foster and Keimarya Rivers attacked the lane for high-percentage looks.
Centre struggled to find rhythm offensively early on, missing several jumpers and committing turnovers that led to transition opportunities for Oglethorpe.
