1/28/2026 12:00:00 PM

NEW ORLEANS - The US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its first national rankings of the season for indoor track & field and the Centre women were ranked fifth in the nation based on the national track & field ratings index.

The national track & field ratings index awards points to teams whose individuals or relays are ranked highly in Division III in their events. The Colonels began the season outside the national top 25 but vaulted to no. 5 thanks to the efforts of All-Americans Chloe Hein and Serena McNeilly, who have combined for seven different top ten national rankings in their respective events.

McNeilly has won SAA Field Athlete of the Week twice, while Hein swept this week's awards, winning for both track and field. At the time of the rankings, Hein was ranked first in the nation in the long jump, while McNeilly was ranked first nationally in the pentathlon.

Centre women's track will compete next at the Steemer Showcase at Wittenberg on Jan. 31.
