LEXINGTON, Ky. - The historical season for Centre volleyball continues with the release of today's American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III poll, which has the Colonels ranked second in the nation. This comes a day after the Colonels reached the top of the NCAA's NPI rankings.

The Colonels improved to 19-1 on the season on the strength of a 4-0 week at home last week that saw the team knock off a top 40 NPI Hanover squad, followed by three straight conference wins that included a four-set victory over no. 16 Trinity and a three-set winner over no. 10 Berry.

Centre received ten of the 75 first place votes in this week's poll, with the remaining 65 votes going to no. 1 Illinois Wesleyan. The Colonels top Illinois Wesleyan by less than a point in the most recent NPI standings thanks to their head to head win back in September.

Centre volleyball will be back in action on Oct. 24 with a conference doubleheader against Oglethorpe and Sewanee.
