BLACKSBURG, Va. - At the Virginia Tech Challenge, Centre All-American
Chloe Hein made Division III history in the long jump to highlight a pair of Saturday meets that signaled the end of the indoor track & field regular season.
For the fifth time this season, Hein broke her previous school record in the long jump, this time posting a mark of 21-0.5 (6.41m), making it the first time she has surpassed the 21-foot mark. That tied the longest jump in Division III women's track & field history, now giving her three of the seven longest jumps ever in Division III.
At the same meet, All-American
Serena McNeilly picked up a pair of wins as she posted marks of 5-8.75 (1.75m) in the high jump and 39-5 (12.01) in the triple jump, with the high jump mark finishing half an inch shy of equaling her school record from earlier this season.
Meanwhile, the Colonels also sent a partial squad to Wittenberg for a final tune-up before the conference championships next week, with several excellent performances in the unscored meet featuring teams from all divisions.
In the 3000m,
Mary Darling finished in eighth place with a time of 10:54.59.
The 60m hurdles saw
Alexandria Masden take fifth place with a time of 9.49.
In the triple jump, Centre volleyball first-year
Kendra Christopher made her track debut and finished second with a mark of 34-4.75 (10.48m), with
Marie De Amour Manirakiza and
Annabelle Tarter each cracking the top eight as well.
The Colonels got a win in the shot put as

Zoey Shahid-Scott and
Caeley Wilson each getting into the top eight marks alongside her. In the weight throw it was
