Centre men go cold in semifinal loss to Trinity

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Centre men's basketball's postseason run in 2025-26 came to an end in the semifinal round of the SAA Tournament as the Colonels could not match the hot shooting of their quarterfinal game, falling to the Trinity Tigers by a score of 83-57.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

- The Tigers got off to the hot start in this one as they connected on their first five shots of the game to take a quick 10-4 lead. Centre struggled to put the ball in the basket, going scoreless for nearly eight minutes in the first half as Trinity extended the lead to 17 points.
- The deficit grew to as many as 21 points in the first half, with Kalib Thomas scoring at the buzzer to make it a 45-27 lead for Trinity at the break. Trinity shot 61 percent for the opening half compared to 31 percent for Centre.
- Centre roared out of the gates in the second half with their best flurry of the night. A three from Landen Hamilton, seven straight points from Drake Ingram and a layup from Nolan Wahl gave the Colonels the first 12 points of the half to cut the lead to 45-39.
- The Colonels narrowed the gap to five on a three from Thomas, and then again on layups from Garrison Hildebrant and Hamilton, but could get no closer as Trinity reeled off the next ten points and Centre got no closer than ten the rest of the way.
