MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Centre baseball team got off to a good start in their series finale against the Rhodes Lynx, but 12 unanswered runs led to a 12-2 victory for Rhodes to end the series.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre staged a two-out rally in the first inning as
Chase Austin reached on an error and
Aaron Lopez singled to put runners on the corners.
Matthew Maggard and
Evan Weyler delivered consecutive RBI singles and Centre had a quick 2-0 lead.
- Rhodes quickly responded in the bottom of the inning with four runs, including a two-run homer with two outs to go back on top 4-2.
- The Lynx continued to hit for power as they added to the lead with a pair of home runs over the next two innings to increase the lead to 7-2.
- The Centre bats went cold as the Colonels managed just two hits over the final four innings as Rhodes scored five runs in the eighth to finish off the game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre pitchers combined for a season high 11 walks in the loss.
Isaac Rone, making his first appearance in two weeks, had a good outing in long relief, allowing just one hit in 3.1 scoreless innings.

The road trip for the Colonels will continue into the next weekend as they travel to Mississippi to face 2025 SAA regular season champion Millsaps for a three-game series.
