DANVILLE, Ky. - The Centre baseball team dropped the third game of this weekend's series against the Berry Vikings, falling in Sunday's series finale by a score of 14-3.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels got on the board first with runs in each of the first two innings.
Ayden Lohr belted a massive solo homer high into the sky on the second at-bat of the game for the first run.
- In the second,
Aaron Lopez led off with a double into the gap, advanced on a wild pitch and was driven in on a deep fly ball by
Matthew Maggard for a productive out and a 2-0 lead.
- The Vikings tied the score in the third with a two-run homer and the game stayed deadlocked until the sixth when Berry scored seven runs on eight hits, with the final five runs coming courtesy of a pair of homers.
- Berry added to the lead in the eighth with five more runs on a bases loaded double and a three-run homer. Centre's final run of the game on an RBI groundout that drove in
Chase Austin, who had doubled in the previous at-bat and advanced on a wild pitch.
