Box Score Mount Berry, GA - Centre Men's Tennis saw its season come to an end on Sunday after the Colonels fell to Berry, 5-2. With the result, the Colonels were eliminated from a spot in the upcoming SAA Tournament.
In doubles action, the Colonels got off to a good start on the day. Centre mixed their top two teams on the day, looking for a momentum shift.
Ty Bush and
Ben Rueff were together in #1 doubles but fell, 4-6. The new team of
Jack Gessner and
Dylan Dethridge linked up in #2 doubles and came away with a 6-2 win. Centre went with its normal third pairing of
Chase Turley and
Isaac Flanery, who came away with a 6-4 win to clinch the team point and give Centre a 1-0 lead going to singles.
Berry flipped the script once the change was made.
Ty Bush lost in 2 tight sets in #1 singles.
Ben Rueff got Centre's 2nd point of the day in #2 singles. He won his match, 6-3, 3-6, and 6-4. From there, it was all Berry.
Isaac Flanery lost two tough tiebreaks in #4 singles, while
Tejas Ahuja and
Jack Gessner each fell in 3 sets in their respective matches.
