GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Centre baseball team played its final road game of the regular season, dropping a 6-5 decision to the Southwestern Pirates on Saturday afternoon.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels fell behind early in this one as they dug a 6-0 hole across the first four innings, giving up two in the first, three in the third and one in the fourth. All three runs in the third inning were unearned after a two-out error kept Southwestern alive.
- In the sixth, the offense finally arrived.
Aaron Lopez led things off with a base hit. After a fielder's choice, a double down the line from
Chase Austin put runners on second and third.

Baylor Woodall drove in the first run of the day with a base hit and Centre loaded the bases after
Graham Johnson laid down a bunt for a single.
Jonah Porter came on to pinch hit and cleared the bases with a double to make it a 6-4 game. With Porter advancing to third, a deep fly ball from
Ben Prather resulted in a sac fly and an RBI to narrow the gap to one run.
- The Colonels put a runner in scoring position in each of the next two innings, but failed to get the tying run across both times, going down in order in the ninth.
