NEW ORLEANS - The US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its National Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon and Centre's
Chloe Hein won the award for Division III Women's Track after an amazing performance at the SAA Championships.
The reigning national champion in the indoor long jump totaled 43 points at the SAA Outdoor Championships, winning the 100 meters, 200 meters and long jump, while finishing second in the triple jump and sixth in the high jump. Hein ran a lifetime best of 11.63 in the 100 to move to no. 3 on the season Descending Order List and stretched her season best to 6.37m (20-10.75) in the long jump. Hein helped the Centre women come from behind on the final day of competition to win their fourth consecutive conference title.
This is the third time in program history that a female athlete from Centre has been named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season. Hein joins two-time 2019 honoree Annie Rodenfels in that regard.
The next meet for the Centre track teams will be a last chance meet at the University of Kentucky on May 2-3.
