LA CROSSE, Wis. - Centre junior
Chloe Hein made it a clean sweep at the NCAA Championships in the long jump as she set another school record at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to win her second national title in 2026.
The 2026 Indoor national champion in the long jump posted a mark of 21-1.25 (6.43m) on her second jump of the evening to break her own school record in the event and get the win by nearly nine inches. Hein was one of just two athletes in the field to jump over 20 feet on any attempt and the only person in the field to clear 21 feet. With her second national title this season, Hein ties
Serena McNeilly, JP Vaught and Annie Rodenfels for the Centre record for most national championships in a single athletic year.
In the same event, McNeilly posted a mark of 18-9.75 (5.73m) to finish just outside the First Team All-America threshold, good for tenth place overall. That finish made McNeilly a Second Team All-American, giving her 11 career All-America honors, breaking the previous Centre record of ten held by Sarah Hayhurst.
Friday at the NCAA Championships will be a busy one for the Centre, with Hein racing in the 100m prelims and McNeilly competing in the high jump to go alongside
Zoey Shahid-Scott in the shot put.
