DANVILLE, Ky. – After playing their first seven contests away from home, no. 20 Centre volleyball made its debut inside Alumni Gym on Friday evening as they took on the Berea Mountaineers. The Colonels won in four sets to improve to 8-0 on the year.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels got off to a hot start in the opening set and never looked back, increasing their lead the entire time and cruising to a 25-8 victory to begin the match.
- The second set was more of the same as Centre reeled off ten straight points to go up 15-4, with
Campbell Miles delivering a pair of aces during the rally. Centre then scored seven straight late as
Elise Grundy put home the final kill on a 25-11 victory for the Colonels.
- In the third set, both teams exchanged the lead several times before the visiting Mountaineers got on the board with a 25-21 win to keep the match alive.
- The fourth set was a return to business as Centre used a 10-1 run to blow open what had been a close game, eventually pulling away to win the match with a 25-14 victory.

The Colonels will open conference play on Saturday as they face Sewanee.
