CANTON, Ga. - Zara McCarthy has been named the Southern Athletic Association Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by conference officials on Monday.

In Centre's hard fought 4-2 loss to #1 WashU last Friday, McCarthy scored the first goal by any opponent against the Bears all season long. The goal was the equalizer in the first half. She also had the direct assist on a second tying goal later in the half.

Against Marietta, McCarthy scored the game-tying goal in the 18th minute to spark a rally that led to a 2-1 win.

McCarthy currently leads the team in goals (4), points (10), and shots on goal (14).

The Colonels will look to keep the momentum going when SAA play kicks off on Friday. Centre travels to Berry for a 5:00pm kickoff.
