NEW ORLEANS - Earlier today the US Track & Field and Cross Country Association released its academic awards for the 2024 cross country season and Centre was well represented, with both men's and women's teams receiving All-Academic Team honors, with two individuals from each team earning All-Academic distinction as well.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period. Both Centre cross country teams fit this criteria, with the men's team posting a 3.174 GPA and the women's team coming in at 3.278.
For individuals to qualify for All-Academic distinction, they must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet. The Colonels had four members of their cross country teams make this year's list, with
Mitchel Meier and
Reeve VanDemark on the men's side and
Sophie Bouldin and
Cara Taylor representing the women's team.
