SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Centre volleyball played its second game against a ranked opponent in the last 72 hours as the Colonels took on the Trinity Tigers, ranked no. 11 in the nation. The Colonels fell in straight sets, with the opening set going to extra points.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The first set was back and forth all the way, with Centre holding onto a small lead for the majority of the frame. The Colonels led 21-17 before Trinity rallied to take a 24-23 lead to force a set point. A kill from
Syd Bietz tied the score and forced the set to extra points.
Maya Kondik and
Abby Swartz combined on a block to give Centre a set point at 25-24, but the Tigers scored the next three to take a 27-25 win.
- In the second set, Trinity extended to an 18-11 lead before Centre stormed back for six consecutive points to cut the deficit to one on an ace by
Olivia Chojnacki. From there, Centre only scored two points the rest of the way and Trinity took the win by a score of 25-19.
- The third set saw Trinity grab the early lead and while the Colonels hung tough and tied the score several times, they could never get over the hump to take the lead and Trinity won by an identical 25-19 score.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Bietz led all players with 18 kills, her highest career total in a three-set match.

Kendra Christopher tied for a game high with 11 digs.

Centre will finish off its Texas road trip on Sunday with a return match against Southwestern.
