ATLANTA - The Southern Athletic Association released its weekly awards for week 6 of the 2025 football season and Centre's
Cree Ross was named Special Teams Player of the Week for games played through Oct. 5.
After having a kickoff return for a touchdown nullified due to a penalty in Centre's game against LaGrange on Sept. 20, the junior transfer would not be denied on Oct. 4 against Millsaps as he fielded the opening kickoff of the third quarter three yards deep into his own end zone and raced 103 yards the other way for a touchdown to put the Colonels up by two scores. Centre eventually won the game by a score of 37-36.
Ross's score was the first kickoff return for a touchdown by a Centre player since Greer Stone ran one back in the 2022 season finale.
Centre football will be on the road on Oct. 11 as they travel to Tennessee to face Maryville.
